Every residential woodwork project begins with an on-site scope inspection.
On-site inspections verify wall straightness, measure linear footage, test timber moisture content, and examine door jamb reveals in person before issuing a firm quote.
How do you book a carpentry visit in Chicago?
Submit your project details below or call our Monroe Street shop directly. Every inquiry reaches carpenter Ivan Petrov without sales intermediaries. Standard callouts operate on a two-hour minimum order, with the vast majority of single-room trim installations, door hangings, and custom scribing completed within a single disciplined visit.
What information decides your carpentry estimate?
Quotes avoid vague ballpark figures. Five physical variables govern the final scope quotation:
Total linear feet of baseboard, casing, or crown, plus the number of interior door slabs requiring mortising and hanging.
Single-piece flat stock versus multi-piece built-up crown mouldings requiring sprung spring-angle cuts and compound mitres.
Historic Chicago lath and plaster often waves by up to 15 mm. Heavy back-relief scribing takes additional bench time.
Finger-jointed paint-grade poplar versus architectural stain-grade red oak, hard maple, or walnut requiring matched grain.
What scopes does Drevantos turn down?
Projects are declined where quality cannot be controlled. Un-acclimatised wet lumber will not be installed over green drywall, general painting or drywall taping is excluded, and warped salvaged doors without squared jambs are refused. The workshop is built entirely for dry-stock architectural trim, precision scribing, and plumb interior doors. If a project demands high-speed, rough-framing shortcuts, Drevantos is not the right fit.
